Press Releases

Public security and order guarantees development.  This is the reason why the Department of Labor and Employment Quezon Provincial Office continues to partner with different government agencies directed by the Administration through Executive Order No. 70 to work in the attainment of lasting peace especially in the countryside

As a sign of support to the whole of government approach in ending local communist armed conflict in the province of Quezon, the DOLE through its provincial office provided livelihood assistance to another batch of former rebels, this time from Barangays Jongo, Malaybahay and San Francisco B in Lopez, Quezon.

The four former rebels availed of the DOLE’s Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) by setting-up a “Sari-sari Store cum Bigasan” project in their respective localities.  The total amount of P111,455.00 was released for the procurement of different food and non-food items for the beneficiaries’ small sari-sari store business.

Mayor Rachel Ubana of Lopez, Quezon thanked the DOLE and the uniformed personnel from the Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police for their efforts in helping the returnees start a new life and eventually reintegrate with society.

The turn-over of the livelihood package of assistance to the former rebels held on March 4, 2021 at the Municipal Hall of Lopez was facilitated by DOLE Quezon Provincial Office Head Edwin T. Hernandez and Livelihood Alternate Focal Person Kim Daren F. Pabilonia.  It was also witnessed by Mayor Rachel Ubana, Lt. Col. Emmanuel Cabahug of the 85th Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army and PMaj. Rodelio Calawit of the Philippine National Police.
