DOLE Rizal distributes salaries of 331 TUPAD beneficiaries in Rodriguez

The Department of Labor and Employment Rizal Provincial Office (DOLE RPO) distributes wages to 331 displaced/underemployed workers from Montalban, Rizal under the TUPAD Program on March 10, 2021.

With the help of the local government unit of Montalban, DOLE RPO employed 331 TUPAD Program beneficiaries from nine barangays namely, San Jose, San Isidro, San Rafael, Manggahan, Balite, Burgos, Rosario, Puray and Geronimo.

TUPAD beneficiaries were tasked to clean, repair and maintain the common public facilities such as schools & health centers in 10 days. They were also tasked to de-clog canals and segregate wastes from reusable materials.

As soon as they finished their 10 day-service, each TUPAD beneficiary is entitled to receive Php. 4,000.00 to be claimed from DOLE RPO's partner remittance centers.

During the payout, DOLE RPO Head, Ms. Marivic Martinez reiterates to the beneficiaries that being employed is important as to receiving assistance from the government agency.

Meanwhile, Montalban Councilor Grem Simbulan reminded the TUPAD beneficiaries to be grateful for the assistance that they have received.

TUPAD beneficiaries expressed their happiness as seen through their eyes the moment they have received their transaction codes to claim their wages.

Isidro Sabaan, a 45-year-old seasonal farm worker and one of the beneficiaries shared his plans on how he will spend the money he earned through TUPAD Program.

Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD) is a short-term emergency employment program of the Department of Labor and Employment for the displaced, underemployed and seasonal workers. Their employment lasts for at least 10 days and should not exceed to 30 days.
