DOLE BATANGAS AWARDS NEGOKARTS TO 30 PARENTS OF CHILD LABORERS IN ROSARIO

Thirty (30) beneficiaries from Rosario, Batangas received livelihood assistance from DOLE Batangas Provincial Office (DOLE BPO) on May 3, 2021.

The recipients were the profiled parents of child laborers in 2019. They were awarded NegoKarts with accessories amounting to Php 30,000 each under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP). Their livelihood supplies included single burner stove, brand new tank, and frying pans. Aside from these, they were given free cloth face masks and face shields as protection once they use the said carts.

Due to the pandemic situation, the distribution took three batches at the Luansing Plaza with 10 beneficiaries each group. It commenced at 9AM and ended at noon. Present in this activity were representatives from DOLE BPO headed by Provincial Director Predelma M. Tan, Mr. Darius Allan Lubis, Ms. Salvacion Kalalo and Ms. Kathleen Mendoza. Ms. Fil Camille Villanueva, PESO Manager and Ms. Editha Pascua, Human Resource Management Officer IV of LGU Rosario also attended the event to assist their respective constituents.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude as they return to their homes with their new livelihood carts. One of them is Ms. Jesusa Demesa, residing in Brgy. Bulihan.

Every year, DOLE conducts profiling of child laborers and grants livelihood packages to chosen families under the Child Labor Elimination program. This aims to diminish and eventually eradicate the cases of child labor in the country.
