One hundred Lipeñas received livelihood assistance from DOLE Batangas Provincial Office (DOLE BPO) last July 07, 2021. This event was held in partnership with the Local Government of Lipa City.

Beneficiaries were awarded Negokarts with accessories amounting to Php 30,000 each. The distribution was conducted at the Lipa City Youth and Cultural Center in Lipa City, Batangas. This distribution is under the DOLE Integrated livelihood Program (DILP).

The said beneficiaries are women who came from the group called “Lipeña Aces”. They hail in the different barangays of Lipa City. They also consist of individuals with existing businesses such as sari-sari store (enhancement), housewives and women who wants to start a new enterprise (formation).

Meanwhile, Provincial Director Predelma M. Tan declared her support on this as she remarked, “Ang livelihood distribution na ito para sa kababaihan will definitely raise awareness on women empowerment and gender sensitivity.” She also cited that this will also address the increasing number of unemployment due to the closure or cost-cutting measures of establishments in this time of pandemic.

Lipa City Mayor, Hon. Eric B. Africa, mentioned that this livelihood opportunity is a great help for his constituents to augment their everyday needs during this Coronavirus outbreak.

Also present in this event are DILP focal and alternate focal persons, Ms. Salvacion Kalalo and Mr. Darius Allan Lubis, respectively.
