TWO ESTABLISHMENTS RECEIVE SAFETY SEAL CERTIFICATION FROM DOLE QUEZON

In an awarding held recently, Peter Paul Philippine Corporation and Johanna’s Chicken Processing Center, Inc. received Safety Seal Certifications from the Department of Labor and Employment Quezon Provincial Office (DOLE QPO).

The Safety Seal which should be conspicuously displayed at all entrance points of the building or establishment, is a voluntary certification scheme that affirms that an establishment is compliant with the minimum public health standards set by the government and uses or integrates its contact tracing with StaySafe.ph.

According to DOLE Quezon Head Mr. Edwin T. Hernandez, the safety seal certification affirmed the commitment of Peter Paul and Johanna’s Chicken to the highest standards of health and safety.

“This certification is one of the programs of the government which aims to restore and accelerate economic growth in which a safer and healthier working environment plays a huge part,” Mr. Hernandez added.

Mr. Froilan Villanueva, Vice President for Operations of Peter Paul, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to DOLE QPO for acknowledging their efforts in protecting their employees and their products and mentioned that safety is part of their company’s core values which is the foundation of their implementation of precautionary measures as mandated by the government and its own company standards.

“This Safety Seal Certification is a testament to the level of importance we undertake to guaranty the safety of our employees and the cleanliness of our products,” Mr. Villanueva said.

Peter Paul Philippine Corporation, located in Candelaria, Quezon is a coconut manufacturing company the largest single production facility of desiccated coconuts with a rated capacity of 22,000 metric tons per year.

The company is committed to the utilization of its core competencies as a premier producer of desiccated coconut, and the enhancement of its other coconut-based products such as coconut milk and cream, and currently into special dietary foods.

Peter Paul’s products are seen in all major markets such as North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and maintains a substantial share in each of these markets. Peter Paul’s customer are among today’s established household name brands in confectionery, cookie, and cereal industries.

 

On the other hand, Johanna’s Chicken Process Center, Inc. is a poultry dressing plant located in Brgy. Bocohan, Lucena City, Quezon. It was established and inaugurated in October 1994, operating with only 25 personnel for the volume of 500 birds per day. Operations at that time was done manually but with the technical and operational support of San Miguel Foods Inc., the flow of the operation smoothened and volume was increased from 500 to 3,500 birds per day.

At present, Johanna’s Chicken Processing Center Inc. still continue to produce high quality Fresh, Frozen and Export Chicken Products for San Miguel Foods Inc. and ensures them with products fit for human consumption.
