TANAUAN CITY TODA MEMBERS ATTEND TUPAD ORIENTATION

 

The 777 members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) in Poblacion 6, Tanauan City, Batangas, attended the TUPAD livelihood Orientation by the Department of Labor and Employment Batangas Provincial Office (DOLE BPO) on March 7 and 8, 2022.

The forum, which was led by DOLE BPO Provincial Director Predelma Tan, provided the beneficiaries with the guidance on the tasks that they will perform, the tools/equipment they will need in the activities and the compensation they will receive upon completion of their jobs. More importantly, they were fully informed on the essence and objectives of the TUPAD Program as a way of inspiring them to do their tasks well.

The orientation was highlighted with the Contract Signing and Distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's) including, t-shirt, buri hats, washable face masks, and face shields.

Said activity was done in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Tanauan City represented by Ms. Meliza Malabanan, Executive Assistant of the Vice-Mayor; ably-supported by Ms. Sarena Noche, PESO Representative; Ms. Salvacion R. Kalalo, DILEEP Focal Person and Patricia Ivana C. Magsino, TUPAD Coordinator.

 



Before the orientation ended Vice Mayor said,

“Ang budget para sa proyektong ito ay galing sa buwis ng taong bayan. Samakatuwid, ito ay para sa lahat ng nangangailangan. Karamihan ng benepisyaryo ng TUPAD program na ito ay mga taga TODA, na alam naman nating isa sa lubos na na-apektuhan ng pandemya. Akoy nagpapasalamat at naging instrumento ang aking tanggapan upang maipahatid ang tulong na ito nang gobyerno sa inyong aking mga nasasakupan.”

TUPAD program aims to assist displaced workers and informal sectors to have a short job to help them to survive while looking for permanent job in a form of community service.
