The Department of Labor and Employment Quezon Provincial Office (DOLE QPO) in partnership with the Office of Second District Representative David C. Suarez and Provincial Governor Danilo Suarez facilitated the conduct of orientation for the 2,500 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged (TUPAD) Program in the City of Lucena. The activity was held on March 17, 2022 at the Grand Stand of the Quezon National High School located in Barangay Ibabang Iyam, Lucena City.

The orientation was led by no less than the Provincial Head of DOLE Quezon Mr. Edwin T. Hernandez. During his talk, Mr. Hernandez explained that the implementation of TUPAD is government’s response to the effects of the on-going pandemic and also a mitigating measure to sky rocketing prices of basic commodities caused by the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Also, during the orientation, DOLE Quezon Employment Focal Genecille P. Aguirre oriented the beneficiaries on the importance of being enrolled to GSIS Accident insurance which is one of the component of the program.

DOLE QPO Head Mr. Hernandez also explained to the beneficiaries that during their work, DOLE TUPAD Coordinators will monitor their activities. He also reiterated that there should be no deduction to their respective salaries and in the event that there will be some unscrupulous individuals who will try to collect any amount from them they should report it immediately to the DOLE provincial office for immediate action.

In support, the office of Congressman David Suarez vowed to assist in apprehending anyone be it a congressional staff, a barangay official or a staff of the local government if found collecting or deducting any amount from the salary of the beneficiaries.
