176 TUPAD BENEFICIARIES FROM BALAYAN UNDERGO ORIENTATION

 

One hundred seventy-six (176) beneficiaries of the Tulong Pangkabuhayan para sa ating mga Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) from the informal sector and members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) from different barangays of Balayan, Batangas, attended the TUPAD livelihood Orientation of the Department of Labor and Employment Batangas Provincial Office (DOLE BPO) recently.

The 1st batch consists of sixty (60) beneficiaries (self-employed, tricycle operators and Drivers’ association members) and the 2nd batch consisting of one hundred sixteen (116) beneficiaries (self-employed/underemployed) from District 1 (Calatagan, Nasugbu, Lian, & Balayan) respectively. These were made possible through coordination with District 1 Congress Office Headed by Cong. E. Ermita/Buhain.

The highlight of the orientation was the Contract Signing and Distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's) including, t-shirt, buri Hats, washable facemasks, and face shields.

 

DOLE BPO Director Predelma Tan, on her remarks, provided the beneficiaries with the guidance on the tasks that they will perform, the tools/equipment they will need and the compensation of 400 pesos per day that they will receive upon completion of 4 hours of community service. More importantly, they were fully informed on the essence and objectives of the TUPAD Program as a way of inspiring them to do their tasks well.

The orientation, conducted at the Conference Hall of Balayan Government Center and Covered Court Brgy. Lanatan, Balayan, Batangas were also attended by DOLE BPO Focal Person, Ms. Salvacion Kalalo, and District I - TUPAD Coordinator Patricia Mei L. Bilog who headed the said orientation, PJ Coordinator, President of TODA Eric Jimenez , AP Partylist Cong. Ronnie Ong, District 1 Office Head - Alfred Francis Ermita, and Political Affairs Asst. II - Norman Aninao.
