Recently, the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. IV-A (DOLE IV-A) thru its Batangas Provincial Office (BPO) conducted a DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) orientation to 35 cooperatives from Tanauan City, Batangas. The said forum was held at the Gov. Modesto Castillo Memorial Cultural Center, Tanauan City, Batangas.

The said orientation was a joint activity of DOLE BPO and Tanauan City Cooperative Livelihood Development Office (TCLDO). It was facilitated DOLE BPO focal person, Ms. Salvacion Kalalo and attended by the members of the cooperatives, and TCLDO head, Ms. Teresita R. Fidelino.

Ms. Kalalo discussed and explained the procedures on how to apply livelihood assistance from DOLE if in case some of the cooperative members would need DOLE’s support. It also specified the requirements for the filing of application, who were the applicants eligible to receive livelihood assistance and what are the projects which can be considered by DOLE.

On top of that, the facilitator clarified the responsibilities of the would-be Accredited Co-Partners (ACPs) of DOLE, in this case cooperatives. She pointed out that ACPs are compelled to submit the complete documents for liquidation within 60 days from the date of grant of the assistance.

DOLE BPO shall continuously reach out to prospective partners, like the cooperatives, to promote and boost economic activities in the community by providing assistance to their members in their livelihood undertakings.
