3 ANTIPOLO-BASED COMPANIES ACQUIRE THEIR 1ST SAFETY CERTIFICATION FROM DOLE IV-A

The Department of Labor and Employment Region IV-A through its Rizal Provincial Office (DOLE-Rizal) approves the Safety Seal applications of two manufacturing and one Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies in the lone city of Rizal, on May 2 and 5, respectively.

On three separate awarding activities, Rizal Provincial Director Marivic B. Martinez, Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Victoria B. Natanuan and Labor Inspector Rechelle Eve S. Peregrino awarded the safety seal certification to the representatives of Innovatronix Incorporated (Innovatronix), Super Eight A1 Advertising Corporation (Super 8), and Telephilippines, Inc. (Teleperformance).

A boost to workers’ confidence

Teleperformance is an outsourced omnichannel customer experience management company that has been helping its clients from 160 markets all over the world for four decades now.

As the quarantine restriction eases, employees from the renowned player in business process outsourcing (BPO) industry are now expected to work onsite. This is why Teleperformance-Antipolo wanted to acquire such certification from DOLE, according to their Human Resource Manager Ken Kabigting.

“We wanted to ensure that our company is compliant with the minimum public health standards set by the government as we do have employees working onsite during this pandemic,” Kabigting said.

The HR Manager believed that acquiring such certification will help build trust and confidence with both their employees and clients that the company will have a safe workplace.

“This will help us to convince our employees and clients that our workplace is safe. It will also help promote more opportunities in the business,” Kabigting added.

Partners in promoting a safe place for work

James Santiago, Owner of Super 8, extends his gratitude to the Department for accommodating their application for the Safety Seal Certification.

“First, I want to say a very big thank you para sa ating mga taga-DOLE. Dahil ang application namin, ngayon namin inapply, kinabukasan mayroon na agad response. Ibig sabihin, ang DOLE dito sa atin sa CALABARZON, especially dito sa Rizal area ay napaka-accomodating that’s one. Tapos they are very helpful para sa aming mga negosyante especially, sa pagkakakaroon ng guidance and counseling,” Santiago said.

The representatives of the Department were also given access to an exclusive tour in the production area of Super 8 wherein they witnessed how big signages are made.

With over 200 professional personnel, Super 8 is the leading producers of signages and specialty booths for renowned brands and malls. They also host corporate events to ensure that the objectives of their brand campaign are delivered.

An aid to sales increase

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 in the past two years, operations in the labor markets, for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and even large businesses were heavily affected.

Thus, for Catherine Frias, Human Resource Officer of Innovatronix, having a Safety Seal Certification can help their company secure more clients for their projects as they can now present proof that they are indeed compliant with the government’s health standards.

“Actually, kasi nandito na nga tayo sa pandemic, meron din tayong mga clients na they are asking if ‘kayo po ba ay nakapag-apply na for safety seal?’ Isa din sa hinahanap ng clients ‘yan. And also, to make sure na nandoon tayo sa safe… ‘yung workplace natin,” Frias pointed out.

Innovatronix is a company that has been running for 36 years now. They focus on electronics design and assembly for products such as electronic scoreboards, energy savers and appliance protectors. Innovatronix also caters to projects related to photography and imaging.

Under Joint Memorandum No. 21 Series of 2021 of the DOLE-DOH-DILG-DOT-DTI, DOLE is mandated to issue Safety Seal Certification to manufacturing companies, warehouses, utility, construction sites, information technology - business process management establishments, and communication industries.

The Safety Seal Certification is a voluntary certification scheme that checks the compliance of the establishments to the minimum public health standards imposed by the government and uses contact tracing application like StaySafe.ph. The validity of this certification will last only for a year and can be renewed after the expiration date.
