TUPAD PROGRAM AIDS ISLAND BENEFICIARIES IN TINGLOY, BATANGAS

In its continuous action to provide emergency employment to Filipinos in need, the Department of Labor and Employment Regional IV-A through its Batangas Provincial Office (DOLE - BPO) recently held a Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) payout at Barangay San Juan, Tingloy, Batangas.

DOLE Integrated Livelihood (DILP) Focal Person, Ms. Salvacion R. Kalalo, with TUPAD Coordinators and Support Staff of DOLE-BPO conducted the salary release to a total of 1,416 island residents of Tingloy, Batangas.

Among the beneficiaries is Ms. Maria May Rodriguez, a food vendor, who expressed her utmost gratitude for being a part of the program. “Malaking tulong po para sa karagdagang puhunan,” she remarked. She shared that her earnings from the 10-day community work will be an added capital for her start-up business in the island.

Meanwhile, for Ms. Noemie De Chavez, a full-time mother, the program is a timely aid for their family especially that her children are back in school after the holiday break. “Malaking tulong po ito sa aking pamilya. Katulad ko na lamang po na may anak, may napasok na anak. Kumbaga yung sasahurin ko, para po sa mga anak ko,” she uttered.

Aside from Ms. Rodriguez and Ms. De Chavez, the other 1,414 beneficiaries from the island municipality of Tingloy also received their salaries amounting to P 4,350.00 each for the services they rendered in cleaning the seaside, highways, streets, and alleys of their community.
