DOLE BPO ORIENTS WORKERS, MANAGEMENT, UNION REPRESENTATIVES ON FAMILY WELFARE PROGRAM

To promote the welfare of the family as an essential factor in workplace productivity, the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office IV-A through its Batangas Provincial Office (DOLE-BPO) conducted a Family Welfare Program (FWP) Orientation to workers and management representatives of Star Tollway Corporation held at Brgy. Tambo, Lipa City, Batangas on January 16, 2023.

According to Senior Labor and Employment Officer, Ms. Cristina Barayang, their orientation focused on tackling the 10-key dimensions of the FWP including Responsible Parenthood, Gender and Development, Spiritual and Values Formation, Livelihood Development, Medical and Health Care, Nutrition, Environmental Protection, Sanitation and Hygiene, Sports, Leisure, Housing, and Transportation.

For the participants, the topics were essential in maintaining their work-life balance.

Mr. Renato Castillo, one of the union representatives also shared the essence of realizing the FWP in their company.

For Mr. Vincent Banta, Management Representative, the FWP will not only protect the welfare of the families but also the workers of the company.

A total of twenty (20) workers, management, and union representatives joined the orientation. Aside from the topics, DOLE representatives also shared the newly published Labor Advisory No. 01-23 about Food and Waterborne Disease Prevention and Control in the Workplace.

DOLE Batangas aims to conduct more FWP Orientation encouraging companies to institutionalize the program for the benefit of their workers and families.
