The Batangas Provincial Federation of Public Employment Service Office Managers hosted the recently concluded FY 2022 Performance Assessment and Planning Exercises at the Batangas Country Club, Batangas City, January 25 to 27.
PESO Managers from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon gathered to evaluate the performance of the region for FY 2022.
In her opening remarks, DOLE-Batangas Provincial Director Predelma M. Tan emphasized the role of PESOs in bridging labor and employment programs for all. “Your commitment to excellent service for the Filipino people in your respective localities gives us, in the department, the confidence that we are heading in a bright direction in achieving our goals for the PESO program. However, commitment to excellence requires us to continuously expand, innovate, and adapt to the changing landscape of job facilitation.”
Director Tan also said that to continuously achieve the goal of effective employment facilitation, tracking accomplishments and defining areas of improvement will be guides in evaluating the next steps as the federation embarks on yet another productive year.
Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas also graced the event and shared that employment generation plays an essential role in the economic development of the province and the region.
PESO Managers and DOLE Provincial Focal Persons identified the gaps and challenged that they encountered during the past year. They also shared best practices from selected offices that exemplify effective employment facilitation strategies.
Meanwhile, DOLE CALABARZON awarded a total of 85 recognitions and special citations to outstanding PESOs in different categories such as Referral and Placement, Labor Market Information, Career Advocacy and Employment Coaching, PEIS, and Number of Facilitated DOLE Programs.
A re-orientation about the DOLE Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program was conducted by DOLE CALABARZON Senior Labor and Employment Officer Ms. Ma. Angelica Ordoño.
The Regional Alliance of PESO Managers also held its PESO Hour, wherein they discussed the upcoming activities of the federation including the Regional PESO Congress.
Meanwhile, DOLE CALABARZON Regional Director Atty. Ma. Karina B. Perida-Trayvilla wrapped the event with an encouraging speech, commending the accomplishments of the PESOs.
In her speech, RD Trayvilla shared that the accomplishments of the PESOs in CALABARZON went beyond expectations and reached far higher than the target set for the year.
"Marami po tayong na-reach out na individual, na-refer and na-place. Sobra sobra nga sa targets and it’s because of you. Ang scorecard ng DOLE ay napakaganda dahil sa inyo. I will be very very proud in reporting to the Central Office what we have achieved as One CALABARZON...Sa inyo pong lahat, maraming maraming salamat sa suporta ninyo sa Department of Labor and Employment." she remarked.
RD Trayvilla assured every PESO of the Department's continued support to deliver quality and effective employment-related services to different localities in the region.
