NCST Conducts Job fair and Supports Project Angel Tree in Cavite
NCST signs commitment of support to Project Angel Tree Donate A Used Beverage Can: Help Send Child Laborer to School Project together with DOLE Cavite Provincial Office and San Miguel Yamamura Corporation-Metal Container Plant as program partners

The National College of Science and Technology (NCST) conducts the annual job fair for graduating students through the school-based Public Employment Service Office (PESO) headed by Ms. Leah P. Digo.

There were 550 registered applicants and 5 were hired on the spot (HOTS). A total of 67 local companies and 2 overseas participated in said activity.

NCST also signed commitment of support to Cavite’s Project Angel Tree Donate A Used Beverage Can: Help Send Child Laborer to School Project together with DOLE Cavite Provincial Office (CPO) and San Miguel Yamamura Corporation-Metal Container Plant as program partners.

NCST President and Chief Executive Officer Engr. Emerson B. Atanacio poses with representatives from SMYC Metal Container Plant, CALABARZON PESO Federation Vice President Mr. Ariel Mugol and DOLE Cavite representatives during the ceremonial turn over of used beverage cans to help child laborers.

The heads, representatives and students of NCST committed to take action on the growing number of working children in the province and recognize children’s rights to prevent children from child labor and share the vision of DOLE CPO with NCST in pursuing mutually enabling partnership under Project Angel Tree towards achieving a child labor-free Cavite.

NCST was the educational institution in Cavite which supported the program. Engr. Emerson B. Atanacio, President and Chief Executive Officer of NCST, shared during the project launching that NCST will provide scholarships for the formal education of former child laborers.

DOLE CPO through the leadership of Director Milagros R. Mata will continue to link and partner with private sector to support the educational needs of children so as to remove them from worst forms of child labor.
