DOLE Cavite Conducts Advocacy on Social Protection and Safety
Ms. Eva Teminio of SSS Tagaytay City Branch discusses the AlkanSSSya program which is an affordable way of contributing to SSS of the members.

The Department of Labor and Employment-Cavite Provincial Office (DOLE-CPO) conducted advocacy social protection and safety to the beneficiaries of Handog Kaunlaran Credit Cooperative (HKCC) on 25 January 2013 at Taywanak Ibaba, Alfonso, Cavite. The cooperative received livelihood assistance from DOLE amounting to P 156, 608.00 for the enhancement of tomato salsa production project.

Mr. Rene R. Tongson, Officer-in-Charge of the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood & Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO) was present during the activity. His message challenged each beneficiary to take their part and work hand in hand to have a successful line of business and at the same time to have a successful cooperative.


Mr. Edwin Hernandez of DOLE Cavite Provincial Office lectures on safety for the informal workers at Taywanak Ibaba, Alfonso, Cavite during the Advocacy Seminar on Social Protection and Safety for the program beneficiaries of livelihood project.

The beneficiaries were given orientation on their social welfare benefits through the presence of representatives from SSS Tagaytay City Branch and Philhealth Trece Martires City Branch. SSS also promoted their program entitled AlkanSSSya in which the members will drop their contributions in a form of coin bank to complete the full amount of contribution which is more affordable for them. Workers from informal economy were also encouraged to be members and continue their contributions for those who were already members for their social protection. A lecture on safety for the informal workers was also given by Mr. Edwin T. Hernandez of DOLE-CPO attended by 58 beneficiaries.
