TO DREAM THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM: Former Child Laborer, Now an Engineer

Rafael Grancioso, former child laborers who benefitted from Project Angel Tree graduated Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and now an employee of Can Asia, Inc. as Electrical Electronics Engineer.

It was in 2007 when Rafael Grancioso was rescued as a child laborer at the age of 10 years old in Naic, Cavite who goes on fishing early in the morning and sells it before going to school. His family was not financially stable and he even goes to school with an empty stomach. Despite his situation, he never stopped dreaming which he knew impossible to achieve. Until Project Angel Tree came into his life and this project was really a great blessing because it helps him to revive his dreams to become an engineer.

Through the DOLE’s Project Angel Tree and a strong partnership with private companies in Cavite, Rafael got his educational scholarship from San Miguel Foundation, Inc. and pursues his dreams to be an engineer. He took up Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) in Maragondon, Cavite and graduated last April 2016.

Rafael Grancioso gives his inspirational message to Project Angel Tree beneficiaries and thanks program partners and stakeholders for the continuous support to the program.
