FARM WORKERS EARN IN GARMENTS MAKING PROJECT
Beneficiaries from Brgy. Pacheco, Magallanes, Cavite were busy in their garment business that helps them in their everyday needs.

The farm workers of Pacheco Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Association, Inc. (PARBA), also a beneficiary of Self-Reliant Organization – Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (SRO-CARP) availed of the DOLE’s Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) for garments making project in their community. Barangay Pacheco in Magallanes, Cavite is 13 kilometers away from the town proper of Magallanes. The DOLE gave a total amount of P352,640.00 assistance on July 11, 2016.

For a few months taking over the garment business, the earning is doing good up to this time. They’d be able to make t-shirts, mono block seat covers for caterers, curtains, pillowcases, accepted repairs, produced pony tails and rugs from scraps. The project helped in creating employment in the community. The beneficiaries were also trained by the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development (PCLEDO) in pattern making for blouses and pants.

Beneficiaries were very thankful for the support given to them by DOLE especially on venturing to non-agricultural project that gave them extra income in making garments, be productive in their acquired skills in tailoring and sewing and hoped to expand their target market in the future.
