In line with the 83rd anniversary celebration of the Department of Labor and Employment, the Quezon Provincial Office of DOLE Region IV-A in simple ceremony released a total of P3 Million worth of livelihood assistance under the Bottoms-Up Budgeting (BUB) for various projects of the municipalities of Plaridel, Infanta and Quezon.
Topping the list of recipients was Plaridel who received P2 Million pesos for the enhancement of their shoe making business locally known as “SIAINdalyas”. Mayor Bernardo V. Tumagay personally received the check from QPO Head Edwin T. Hernandez.
Another recipient of the DOLE’s livelihood assistance was Infanta who received P1 Million pesos for the development of the town’s Nipa Wine and Organic Fertilizer Production for farmers and farm workers. A total of 312 beneficiaries are expected to benefit from the said project.
Finally, the town of Quezon in Alabat island was the last recipient of the DOLE’s livelihood assistance in the amount of P500,000 for the enhancement of their Coco Sugar project which was being operated by the OFW association of the island. The association has a total of 100 members.

Likewise, a total of sixteen (16) personal computers with speaker were released by the provincial office to the Public Employment and Service Offices (PESO) of the towns of Agdangan, Alabat, Candelaria, Dolores, Guinayangan, Infanta, Macalelon, Mauban, Padre Burgos, Pagbilao, Panukulan, Plaridel, Pitogo, San Andres, San Antonio and the Provincial PESO.
The criteria in the selection of the recipients are the local government unit must belong to the fourth to sixth class municipality category level and they have been an implementer of the Skills Registry System. Moreover, with the provision of computers to the different public employment offices it is expected that it will boost the capacity of the same in the area of generating skills registration for the local and provincial government.
The awarding ceremony was held on December 6, 2016 at Ouans the Farm Resort, Kanlurang Mayao, Lucena City.
