As DOLE IV-A introduces the Youth Employability Framework early this year; the Laguna Provincial Office reinforces its ties with stakeholders particularly the ICCP Group Foundation to smoothen the K-To-12 transition.

“We are glad to be part of this endeavor as it serves to fill the gap between available skills and in-demand jobs in the labor market and I am all praises to the ICCP for their initiative,” PD Milagros R. Mata enthusiastically remarked.

Last year, the ICCP Group Foundation launched its Senior High School Industry Linkage Project during the 5th Laguna Labor Management Council, Inc. General Assembly at NYK TDG Maritime Academy Gymnasium at Carmeltown, Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna.

With 700 participants from labor and management sectors, it was the perfect occasion to share the project of bridging business establishments and educational institutions to ease out the work immersion course of students under the K-To-12 Program of the Department of Education.

During the general assembly, Executive Director Ronie Tapnio presented the organization to Laguna establishments. The ICCP Group Foundation, Inc. is the social development unit of the Science Park of the Philippines, Inc. administering Light Industry Science Parks I and II in Cabuyao City and Calamba City, respectively. Actively engaged in property development, it is focused on initiatives to improve the investment climate in their economic zones.

Following the development and implementation of Contextualized Learners’ Materials on STEM and TechVoc for Senior High School Students in partnership with DepEd in Calamba City District and Cabuyao City District offices, the ICCP Group Foundation has been reaching out to companies to be part of the SHS Industry Linkage Project by accommodating students for their work immersion activity.

Among its partners in the semiconductors industry are companies in LISP I and II such as NXP, NEC Tokin, STMicroelectronics, Kyouritsu Electronics and First Sumiden Circuits. The ICCP Group Foundation is keeping its doors open to interested companies willing to train Senior High School Students in the workplace. Besides, it can also be an opportunity to scout potential employees for the company.

With the linkage project, senior high school students in Laguna will tread the easy path of fulfilling their immersion requirements in school and assured of potential employment in partner-companies of the ICCP.
