|LLMC TURNED CIG TRAINERS. PD Milagros R. Mata with CIG Resource Speakers and the Laguna Labor Management Council geared up to conduct CIG Orientations.|
“All in the name of public service nothing personal and never personal…” PD Milagros R. Mata started her speech with these humbling words in her welcome speech at the Training the Trainers: CIG Module Orientation for LLMCi Officers with Ms. Ann Reshier G. Bayugo , Assistant Director for Guidance Counselling of Letran Calamba, Mr. Jorge Manuel C. Laude, RPm ,CGAP Focal DOLE IV-A, and Ms. Lirio T. Malabanan ,Employment Focal DOLE Laguna Provincial Office, as speakers.
Those words perfectly summed up her work philosophy but little did she know about the special tribute by the Laguna Labor Management Council, Inc. which happened next on 1 March 2017 at the Sol Y Viento Mountain Hot Springs and Resort in Pansol, Calamba City, Laguna.
It was a surprise tribute to PD Mata who was the LLMCi Chairperson for three years having spearheaded three TIPC conventions. While the annual gathering of labor market stakeholders will never be an absolute guarantee of industrial peace, it is indeed a testament to the possibility of coming together for a good cause. This is the beautiful silver lining amid the chaotic dynamics in the Laguna labor market.
The Council headed by Mr. Jovito Paradina, Vice-Chair for Labor and Atty. Delia Uy, Vice-Chair for Management, led the tribute by sharing their personal well wishes. PD Mata took the center stage where she was met with a bouquet of flowers, balloons, a chocolate cake and a lively birthday hymn. Lighting up the Fabero Chill Out Bar was the smile, grin and laughter of the overwhelmed celebrator.
Each one in the LLMCi had a fair share of anecdotes recounting professional experience with PD Mata. HGST Manager John Joseph Cano shared his continued collaboration with the hard working Provincial Director from Cavite to Laguna through the Project Angel Tree.
A board was placed on stage where thank you notes from members of the Council expressing their gratitude were posted. Some messages were sweet and simple while some were lengthy and elaborate. Everyone was participative with no spare space left on the board filled with words of praises, hopes and above all else appreciation.
The tribute was likewise a showcase of the other side of the feisty leader who sure knows how to have fun at the right time. She hit the dance floor along with the other ladies while the rest took a chance on their singing skills. Without a doubt, it was a night of celebration for the LLMCi in honor of its ever so active chairperson.
In the end, what resonated the most is the remark of Ms. Teresita Flamenco of Hearty Beverage Options, Inc. to PD Mata quoting a verse from Barbara MacAdam, “My good and faithful servant, I’m so proud of you this day!”
