Batangas PESO Managers prepare for a value-added PESO

Batangas PESO Managers listen attentively and participate actively on the discussion of Ms. Vivian A. Perez.

"As public servants who are part of an improving government, you have to add value to PESO and its services."

This is the challenge posed by Ms. Vivian A. Perez, resource speaker, to Batangas PESO Managers who attended the Provincial Mid-Year Performance Assessment (MYPA) cum Capacity Development Training last June 29 to 30 at La Virginia Hotel and Resort, Mataas na Kahoy.

According to Ms. Perez, the key ingredient of a value-added PESO is “revitalized leadership.” She continued that the initial step towards such is the leader’s ability to know and accept who he is. What follows is his aptitude to motivate his subordinates by his very own examples.

Batangas PESO Managers huddle together and display how they respond professionally to their clients.

Throughout the session, participants were reviewed on the importance of establishing and developing organizational culture; creating transparency and trust; empowering people and roles; promoting collaboration; encouraging innovation, and; monitoring performance.

Towards the end of Ms. Perez’ four-hour talk, PESO Managers grouped themselves and staged a short play to demonstrate certain scenarios which they experience at the grassroots and because of which they are called to uphold leadership values.

In addition, Mr. Jose Manuel Laude, DOLE Region IV (CALABARZON) Career Guidance and Employment Coaching Focal Person, oriented the participants on the Philippine Talent Map Initiative (PTMI). He said that PTMI, a fruit of the joint efforts of DOLE, SFI Group of Companies and HireLabs, is a great way to serve PESO clients and add value to the organization, because through it, they will be able to assess the skills and competencies of the country’s workforce.

“These are very helpful learning sessions. Maganda kung masusundan pa at makakarespond ang bawat isa sa mga nailahad na points for improvements”, said Dr. Razel Ingco of Batangas Province PESO on the held activity.

The Provincial MYPA cum Capacity Development Training was spearheaded by Ms. Angelina L. Amat of Batangas Provincial Federation of PESO Managers, Inc. and Director Predelma M. Tan of DOLE-Batangas Provincial Office.
