Batangas PESOs Assess Their Accomplishments

37 Public Employment Service Office (PESO) managers and staff from various cities, municipalities and Job Placement Offices of Batangas assessed their accomplishments as they hold their 2nd General Assembly at Tan Ville Garden and Resort, Rosario on June 21.

DOLE-Batangas Provincial Office (DOLE-BPO), headed by Dir. Predelma M. Tan, led the recognition of certain PESOs for their 2017's outstanding contribution to the national thrust of carrying out full employment and equal opportunities for all:

A. 2017 Provincial Champion on the Conduct of CGEC

1. PESO Batangas City (Component City)
2. PESO Sto. Tomas (First Class Municipality)
3. PESO Balete (Fifth Class Municipality)
4. University of Batangas JPO (HEI)

B. 2017 Provincial Champion on SPES Implementation

1. PESO Tanauan City (Component City)
2. PESO Rosario (First Class Municipality)
3. PESO Ibaan (Second Class Municipality)
4. PESO Agoncillo (Fourth Class Municipality)
5. University of Batangas JPO (HEI)

In addition, Mr. Karl Joseph D. Sanmocte, DOLE-BPO's Employment Focal Person, presented to the participants the summarized accomplishments (January-May 2018) of PESOs based on their duly-supported Monthly Employment Reports: 26, 613 referred job applicants; 24, 315 placed job applicants; 75, 854 individuals reached with Labor Market Information; 6, 018 students reached through career guidance, and; 6, 163 job applicants coached.

On top of such, Mr. Sanmocte urged the PESOs to continue their drive of providing excellent public service at least in terms of employment facilitation. Dir. Tan added that the criteria set forth by the Search for Best PESO (SBP) Manual should be the standard aim of each, and, if possible, should be exceeded.

PESO Batangas City, led by Mr. Noel C. Silang, presented towards the end of the assembly Batangas City’s own version of the Public Employment Information System. Mr. Silang invited his fellow PESO managers to innovate their ways so as to give the public an upgraded service.

Other points discussed were the conduct of job fair, SPES implementation and tips for SBP aspirants.
