DOLE BATANGAS CAMPAIGNS FAMILY WELFARE PROGRAM

One of the DOLE’s strategies in achieving its vision of pursuing inclusive growth through decent and productive employment is through the promotion of Family Welfare Program (FWP). FWP is an advocacy with the concept of fostering the welfare of workers as well as their families that results in increased workplace productivity and improved worker-management relations in their respective companies.

DOLE-Batangas Provincial Office (DOLE-BPO) advocates and supports FWP through conduct of orientations in different companies throughout the province. Ms. Celia Ariola and Ms. Jonalyn Ramilo of DOLE-BPO facilitated the said orientations every month: on 15 March at Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation - Tabangao Refinery, Brgy. Tabangao, Batangas City, Batangas; on 27 April at Fuji Industries Manila Corporation, FPIP, Sta. Anastacia, Sto. Tomas, Batangas; and, on 04 May at First Philec, Inc., FPIP, Brgy. Ulango, Tanauan City, Batangas.

The members of the management and the workers of these various companies who attended the orientation were enlightened about the objectives of having a Family Welfare Program and were provided with information about the 10 FWP dimensions to conform under DOLE’s Department Order no. 56, series of 2003 (Rationalizing the Implementation of FWP in DOLE). They were also educated on how to establish their own FWP committees. At the end of every session, these companies promised to submit quarterly reports at the provincial office as their compliance.

FWP is part of the department’s solution to maintain harmonious labor and management relations. This program envisions not only to improve the quality of life of the workers but as well as increase enterprise competitiveness. This also strives to address work-life balance among companies.
