AN HOUR FOR THE EARTH: DOLE BATANGAS JOINS CLEAN-UP DRIVE
CLEAN AND GREEN. Participants come together after collecting garbage around the vicinity.

In our commitment to building a safe and sustainable habitat, DOLE - Batangas Provincial Office, together with Land Transporation Franchising and Regulatory Board IV-A (LTFRB), Department of Education - Lipa Division Office (DepEd) and Bureau of Internal Revenue - RDO 59 (BIR), joins Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Lipa City in their observance of Earth Day celebration. A clean-up activity was conducted at Olan’s Place Compound on 24 April 2019, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

During the one-hour activity, participants were divided within the vicinity as they collect every piece of trash usually caused by employees and clients entering the area. Each department brought their own garbage bags, broomsticks and dustpans. This small manner aims to demonstrate support for environmental protection and our way of help in cleaning up our communities.

Since 2008, Philippines celebrated Earth Day every 22nd of April under Presidential Decree 1481 as signed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. This is to increase every Filipino’s awareness on environmental destruction and degradation that may risk the quality of life of the population. In 1990, President Corazon Aquino signed Proclamation No. 553 as launching of Earth day in the country.
