“Truly, the Department of Labor and Employment plays a vital role in the community. Our farmers and members were greatly benefitted through the help of the DOLE by making our cooperative involved on such projects and grants providing and implementing socio-economic projects under the Social Amelioration and Welfare Program. The professionalism and sincerity exhibited by your and your team is commendable and deserve appreciation. We are very honored to be the recipient of the grant.”

This was how Mr. Armel L. Amparo, General Manager of Yakap at Halik Multi-purpose Cooperative Quezon 2 located at Bgy. Walay, Padre Burgos, Quezon expressed their deep appreciation to DOLE through a letter sent to QPO Head Edwin T. Hernandez after the ceremonial turn-over of the Six Million Pesos (P6M) livelihood grant which was funded under the DOLE’s Social Amelioration and Welfare Program or SAWP for Biofuel held at the PICC in Pasay City on August 30, 2019.

One of the objectives of the Biofuel’s law is to increase rural employment and income. With the grant from DOLE, the cooperative is envisioned by the Philippine Coconut Authority, being the Vice Chair for Biofuel concerns acting as conduit between the biodiesel stakeholders and other government agencies, to be the consolidator of copra trading in the Bondoc Peninsula of Quezon, thus, minimizing middlemen and increasing income of the coconut farmers.
