DOLE CALABARZON retains ISO Certification

After successfully passing the second surveillance audit on October 16, 2020, the Department of Labor and Employment in CALABARZON region retain its ISO 9001:2015 certification for Quality Management System.

Amidst the observance of alternative work arrangements in the DOLE Regional Office IV-A and its provincial offices in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, a remote audit on all sites was conducted by TÜVRheinland, a third-party certifying body. The virtual audit conducted by the TUVRheinland confirmed that the organization’s management system complies with, adequately maintains and implements the requirements of the standards.

Relative to its QMS processes and documented information, five-member audit team employed interviews through Zoom application and reviewing the appropriate documentation.

“Maintaining our ISO 9001 certification is a wonderful achievement for DOLE IV-A. The certification provides assurance to our clients that we are a government organization which sets quality as fundamental to every programs and services that we offer,” DOLE IV-A Regional Director Henry John S. Jalbuena mentioned.

“The result of zero non-conformity gives assurance to the public that the services we deliver meet their needs and make measurable, positive public service impact,” he added.

Director Jalbuena highlighted that the certification reflects the commitment of all the women and men of DOLE IV-A to continuously deliver quality management system and effective provision of its services and programs to promote gainful employment opportunities, develop human resources, protect workers and promote their welfare and maintain industrial peace.

The surveillance audit covered the various processes of DOLE IV-A, such as the issuance of alien employment permit, registration of labor unions, registration of contractors and sub-contractors, issuance of working child permit, among others.

ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a QMS. Organizations use this standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
