DOLE Rizal awards livelihood assistance to PWDs

The Department of Labor and Employment- Rizal Provincial Office released Php 940,000 to the Business Opportunity Producers Cooperative (BOPC), a PWD- organized cooperative.

The spread of the covid-19 pandemic is still evident and continues to cause uncertainty in the lives of every Filipino people, most especially to the vulnerable sector such as the elderly, the immune-compromise and the persons with disability. With this in mind, the people seek various assistance in aiding them with their daily lives during these tough times. To answer the needs of the public, the Department of Labor and Employment strengthen its DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP), part of which is the provision of the livelihood program to the different worker’s association and organization to help them with their way of living.

The Business Opportunity Producers Cooperative, is a PWD- organized cooperative which produces garments production providing uniforms, and different textile/ cloth to their clientele. The group is comprised of the differently abled beneficiaries ranging from ortho-disability to mental disorder.

Their courage to face the challenges of their condition would inspire anyone most especially during the time of a pandemic.
